How to apply for a Halifax Student Current Account

It only takes a few minutes to open a Halifax Student Current Account online.

Before you begin you will need to have a confirmed place at university or college and:

• Your university or college details.
• Your term-time address - if you don't have a term-time address yet, don't worry, you can provide this later once you've sorted out your accommodation.
• Previous address details (if you have lived at your current address for less than 3 years).

Existing Halifax customers - Change from your existing current account to a Student Current Account
As a Halifax current account customer you can change your account to a Student Current Account and keep the same sort code and account number. Simply call 08457 20 30 40 and speak to a colleague, alternatively visit your local branch. This facility is currently not available online.

Calls from BT landlines will cost a maximum of 4p per minute plus a 6p call set-up fee. The price of calls from other telephone companies will vary.  Lines open  Mon-Fri 8am-8pm, Sat 8am-6pm, Sun 9am-5pm.
