Dont get caught out. Know your PIN.

You must now use your PIN instead of your signature to be sure you can pay with your debit or credit card. So don’t get caught out at the front of the queue, make sure you know your PIN – and enjoy a faster, more convenient way to shop.

Do you find it difficult to remember your PIN?

Choose it
You can choose a new number that’s easier to remember. For example, if a friend’s birthday is 21 March you could choose 2103, or if your wedding anniversary is 29 April you could use 2904.

Change it
You can change your PIN at most UK cash machines. Simply key in your existing PIN, select PIN services and follow the on-screen instructions – it’s easy and will only take a couple of minutes.

Use it
Now all you have to do is use your PIN when shopping. And remember, the PIN you use when out shopping is always the same four-digit number you use at the cash machine.

What if I forget my PIN?
If you’ve forgotten your PIN, simply call us on 08457 20 30 40 and we’ll send you a written PIN reminder – you will receive this within five to seven working days.

What if I lock my PIN?
If you forget your PIN and enter it incorrectly three times, your PIN will be ‘locked’, preventing you using it. Locking your PIN isn’t the end of the world. If you remember your PIN later, you can ‘unlock’ it at most UK cash machines. Just key in your existing PIN, select PIN services and follow the on-screen instructions.

Or if you can’t remember your PIN, then call us on 08457 20 30 40 and we’ll send you a PIN reminder in three working days.
