Make sure you have the following details to hand:

Your current bank account details (if any)

• Your employer's name and address
• Previous address details if you've lived at your current address for less than 3 years.

Existing Halifax customers - Change from your existing current account to a standard current account
As a Halifax current account customer you can change your account to a standard current account and keep the same sort code and account number. Simply call 08457 20 30 40 and speak to a colleague, alternatively visit your local branch. This facility is currently not available online.

Calls from BT landlines will cost a maximum of 4p per minute plus a 6p call set-up fee. The price of calls from other telephone companies will vary. Lines open Mon-Fri 8am-8pm, Sat 8am-6pm, Sun 9am-5pm.
