We now have two separate discount messages affiliates can use to promote Halifax Home Insurance. These are:

1. "35% online discount on buildings and contents insurance"

2. "Up to 35% online discount on home insurance"

The key difference between these two messages is that the term "Home Insurance" is not universal. It could refer to any combination of buildings insurance, contents insurance, and additional extras such as legal expenses cover or accidental damage cover. Some extras we offer do not qualify for the full 35% online discount and these are detailed below:

To help explain, here are two possible quotes a customer might get and the discounts they'd qualify for.

a. Buildings and contents insurance with no extras
This combination could be referred to as "Buildings and Contents Insurance". Because the quote does not include any of the extras mentioned above, it qualifies for the full 35% discount. In this case you can use the '35% online discount on buildings and contents insurance.' as they are receiving the full 35% discount.

b. Buildings and contents insurance with home emergency cover
This combination can not be referred to as "Buildings and Contents Insurance" as it includes an optional extra, but still could still be referred to as "Home Insurance". In this case the total discount will be less than 35%, as home emergency cover is not discounted. Therefore the wording 'Up to 35% discount on home insurance' would be applicable.

• Easy. One number – our experienced customer advisors are here to answer all questions. Plus, there are no forms to fill in. Simply call and they'll do the rest.
• Personal Service. Dedicated Halifax Personal Claims Consultant if we have to visit the home to discuss the claim.
• Prompt. We'll arrange repair or replacement of damaged items within 24 hours of our customers agreement, plus they'll receive payment five days after the settlement claim has been agreed with us.
• Expert. Work carried out by our recommended builders or approved contractors and is guaranteed for 12 months.
