Keeping the car in a garage overnight
Unfortunately we can't insure drivers who live in Northern Ireland.
Normally drivers must be aged at least 21 (19 if female) for comprehensive cover, or 30 for Third Party Fire and or Third Party Only cover.
We insure drivers up to the age of 78.
Our Sheilas’ Wheels Car Insurance policy is designed for women, but you can add male drivers aged between 21 and 80 to your policy.
We don't insure motorbikes.
Specialist sports/high performance and vintage cars
We'll consider cover for high performance cars but we do not insure vintage cars.
Left hand drive cars/foreign imports
We'll consider cover for left hand drive cars provided they are European import cars and the equivalent model is available to buy in the UK. We do not insure Japanese or American import cars.
We don't insure kit cars.
Keeping the car in a garage overnight
If you keep the car in your locked garage overnight, you'll receive a discounted premium and the theft excess will not apply if the car is stolen from the garage.
Motoring convictionsIf you have a motoring conviction that is acceptable under the terms of the policy, we may still be able to insure you, but it will affect your premium.
We can provide cover for business use on request. If you wish to extend your cover for business use, please call Customer Services on 0845 605 7757. Lines open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 2pm on Sunday.
You may be able to add drivers to the policy after you have taken it out, subject to their meeting the terms and conditions of the policy.
Most Comprehensive cover policies have a personal effects benefit of £100. Please check your policy schedule to see if these are included or call Customer Services on 0845 605 7757. Lines open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 2pm on Sunday.
If you have comprehensive cover and choose to use our recommended repairer, you'll receive a free courtesy car whilst yours is being repaired, unless it is the subject of a total loss claim.
