Eligibility for enhanced terms
Insurers are willing to pay enhanced terms resulting in higher incomes to smokers, or individuals with health problems, due to a shortened life expectancy.
For smokers, you need to have smoked 10 manufactured cigarettes or 85g of rolling tobacco per day for the last 10 years to qualify for enhanced terms.
Medical conditions that qualify for enhanced terms include :
- Chronic lung disease
- Cancer
- Diabetes
- Obesity
- High blood pressure
- Liver disease
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Parkinsons disease
- Heart conditions
- Asthma
- Stroke
- Alzheimers
- Kidney disease
Other conditions may also be covered so if you have been hospitalised or are on a prescription medication - just let us know.
Time invested now can benefit you for the rest of your life so please take a few minutes to complete and return a medical evidence questionnaire with your Client Information Form and we can look at getting you a higher income. Remember, your income in retirement could be on average 22% more than the standard rates offered to you by your pension provider if you qualify for enhanced rates.
