Halifax Savers Prize Draw
There are 10 x £100,000 top prizes in our May and June 2012 savers prize draws. That's over £1 million in prizes to be won in each of these months.
More people save tax free with us than any other bank. So to celebrate, 10 lucky savers can win £100,000 in both our May and June monthly draws instead of 3. Plus there are still over 1,000 smaller prizes to be won.
All you have to do is hold £5,000 in one or more qualifying savings accounts each calendar month and register. You'll also need to be over 18 and live in England, Wales or Scotland.
The draw
There are usually 1,103 prizes in each monthly draw, with 3 top prizes of £100,000. For the May and June draws only, we've increased the number of top prizes from 3 to 10. That's over £1 million in prizes to be won in each of these two months.
Here's a breakdown of the prizes for the May and June draws:
Draws after June will have three top prizes of £100,000 unless we tell you otherwise.

Remember, if you’ve already registered, there's no need to re-register. You'll just need to hold £5,000 in one or more qualifying savings accounts throughout each calendar month to be entered in the following month's draws. If your savings are in a joint account, we will split the qualifying balance equally between you.

How to qualify
There are just a few things you need to qualify for our Halifax Savers Prize Draw:
- You'll need to hold one or more qualifying Halifax or Bank of Scotland savings accounts.
- You'll need to keep a total balance in your qualifying accounts of at least £5,000 for the whole calendar month before each draw. For example, to be in the May 2012 draw, a qualifying saver must keep a total balance of £5,000 (in one or more qualifying savings accounts) from 1st to 30th of April 2012.
- Be over 18, and live in England, Wales or Scotland
For joint accounts, each account holder must register individually if they want to enter, and the money held in the joint account will be treated as being split equally between each account holder for the purpose of calculating the qualifying balance. And the draw is limited to one entry per customer, so multiple registrations will not be counted.

Why isn't the Prize Draw available overseas or in Northern Ireland?
Under the Gambling Act 2005, we are permitted to offer this type of Prize Draw in England, Wales and Scotland. Different legislation applies to overseas and Northern Ireland, so unfortunately it's not possible to offer the Prize Draw outside England, Wales and Scotland.
Why is there a requirement to hold £5,000 in order to enter the Prize Draw
The minimum balance balance has been set at £5,000 to encourage customers to save towards a goal that is broadly aligned to the current annual cash ISA allowance of £5,640 for adults. The £5,000 can be held across a number of qualifying accounts and so this could be over a combination of easy access, fixed or cash ISA accounts.
Are investment funds counted towards the £5,000 savings balance requirement?
No, eligible balances must be held in qualifying Halifax and/or Bank of Scotland personal retail savings accounts, excluding children's accounts and Halifax Christmas Saver. Balances can be held in one or more accounts. Funds held in investment products, such as Stocks & Shares ISAs including ISA Investor, are not counted towards the £5,000 savings balance requirement.
Does money in a current account count towards the £5,000 savings balance requirement?
No, any balances held in current accounts will not be counted towards the £5,000 savings balance requirement.
Do I have a greater chance of winning if I register more than once?
No, you won't have a greater chance of winning if you register more than once. Entries are limited to one per person per month If we receive multiple entries, then only the last entry received will be entered into the draw.
If I have several savings accounts, do I need to register each one separately?
No. Entries are limited to one per person per month regardless of how much you have saved, or the number of savings accounts you hold. You only need to register using one of your accounts and we will calculate your qualifying balance from all of your accounts.
How do funds held in joint savings accounts count towards the £5,000 savings balance requirement?
If funds are held in joint accounts, then the balance will be split equally between each account holder when calculating each account holder's qualifying balance. For example, where there are two joint account holders this will be 50%. Each account holder will need to register separately if you both want the chance to win.
How do I find out if I've won?
All winners will be notified by post and will be asked to visit a Halifax or Bank of Scotland branch to claim their prize. A full list of winners by name and county will be available on request from our branches for 6 months after each draw.
