Report non-banking fraud

Action Fraud is the UK’s national fraud reporting centre, launched by The National Fraud Authority and is the primary route for members of the public and small to medium enterprises (SMEs) to report non-banking fraud - offering advice, support and guidance to fraud victims. Cases where fraud is confirmed or suspected will be referred to the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) for analysis, generating Police intelligence and investigation packages.

Action Fraud compliments the existing service we offer our customers by allowing a wider range of fraud scams to be reported and action taken against them.

Customers should still contact us directly regarding banking fraud, such as plastic card and cheque fraud. Action Fraud will then be available for wider fraud reporting on issues including Lottery Scams and Pyramid schemes, as well as providing access to Victim Support for all fraud types.

UK based customers that have experienced non-banking fraud in the UK or online are able to report fraud online using the online fraud reporting tool or contact Action Fraud by phone on 0300 123 2040 (textphone 0300 123 2050). Lines are open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm Saturday and 10am to 4pm Sunday.

Non-UK based customers can use the same details to contact Action Fraud provided the fraud took place in the UK.

Halifax customers can find further details on security and how to report fraud by visiting our Security Centre.
