- I've accidentally closed down the Share Price Alert Tool. How do I re-open it?
Go to https://www.halifaxmarketwatch.co.uk/triggered_alerts to re-open the Share Price Alert Tool. We recommend that you save the tool in your favourites by using the method below. You can also access the tool by adding a stock to your watchlist through our Research Centre.
- How do I save the Share Price Alert Tool for future use?
As the Share Price Alert tool is based in a web based browser, you can save it into your favourites just like you would with a standard webpage. Select the 'favourites' option within the toolbar and then click 'add'. The page can then be minimised and run alongside your usual applications.
- The Share Price Alert Tool doesn't pop up when my pre-set price has been met?
If you are accessing the Share Price Alert Tool at work this may be due to your companies security settings which don't allow internet applications such as the Share Price Alert Tool.
- How do I log out of the Share Price Alert Tool?
You remain logged in until your computer has been switched off. This is to prevent losing your alerts should you accidentally close down the Share Price Alert Tool. If you are using the tool at work, your session will end when you log off your computer. - What is a ticker?
A ticker is the 3 or 4 lettered unique stock market code for a selected company.
- What is an RNS news feed?
The Regulatory News Service (RNS) gives you regulatory news about a company.
- How do I stop receiving emails?
To stop the Share Price Alerts, simply delete the stock from the Share Price Alert Tool.
- What happens if I forget or lose my password?
Currently, you will need to re-register for the Share Price Alert Tool using a different email address. We will be updating this in the near future and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
- Do I need to save the settings when I change 'Alert me by popup'?
The settings are saved automatically when the tool is minimised.
- How many stocks can I watch at any one time?
The Share Price Alert Tool can hold up to 5 saved stocks. Your selections will remain until you delete them, however you can delete stocks at any time if you wish to add others.
