Using the online service
If you opened an account online, you will be automatically registered for the online service. If you opened an account by telephone but would like to use the online service, please see the section - 'Register my account for the online service'. To use the online service, sign in at www.halifax.co.uk/online using your security details. Your Share Dealing Personal Reference Number (PRN) should appear as a hyperlink under the 'Share Dealing/ ShareBuilder' section of the 'My accounts' screen. If your Share Dealing PRN does not appear on the 'My accounts' screen please try the steps in the 'Add Share Dealing to 'My accounts'' section.
To access the Share Dealing area, simply click on the Share Dealing PRN hyperlink and you will be taken to the Share Dealing 'Welcome' page. Alternatively, from the 'My accounts' screen, you can directly access a screen within Share Dealing by selecting an option from the 'Take me to >>' drop down list and clicking on the 'Go' button.
If you would like to set the Share Dealing 'Welcome' screen as your homepage when you sign in to the online service instead of the 'My accounts' screen, click on the checkbox 'I would like this to be my first page after logging on' on the share dealing 'Welcome' screen.
If you have more than one type of share dealing account, you will be directed to set a default account when you use the Share Dealing online service for the first time. This account will automatically be selected for you on each future visit, giving you quicker access to your preferred account. You can change your default account at any time by selecting 'Account Settings' on the left side bar menu followed by 'Default Account'.
