  • Both joint account holders must be over 18
  • Both joint account holders are equally responsible for the account, including spending, overdrafts and any other debts
  • Youth accounts and Student Current Accounts can’t be changed to joint accounts
  • Both account holders can use the features and benefits of the account, without needing approval of the other
  • Credit reference agencies can make a financial link between joint account, which could affect your credit score
