Make safe: action you must take to stay covered

Act now - your cover depends on it.
There are a high number of burglaries in the UK. Figures from the Association of British Insurers show that during 1997 over half a million people had to make an insurance claim because of theft. So it's essential that you take proper security precautions. You’ll find these described below. Please read them carefully.

Your policy requires you to fit these locks:
At the moment your home contents policy protects you against theft and malicious damage. Please make sure that the work is completed within forty five days of your contents policy start date, as your future protection from theft and malicious damage depends upon you having taken the action described here.

Lock up!

  • You or your family leave your home unattended. Please remove all keys from locks and store out of sight
  • You go to bed at night, although there is no need to use window locks in occupied bedrooms.
