The Halifax brand is changing to Lloyds

You can still apply for a Halifax loan.

If you have started a loan application make sure to complete it before moving to the Lloyds app to avoid needing to start from scratch.

Make extra payments

Making extra payments to your loan can reduce the overall interest you’ll pay and may reduce your loan term.

If you make extra  payments, they won't take the place of your monthly payment. We'll still take your direct debit as planned on your usual payment date.

Early settlement

If you want to settle your loan early, we'll give you a quote. We may also apply an early settlement adjustment to your loan. This means that we may charge up to 58 days' interest on the loan.

Take a repayment holiday

A repayment holiday gives you a one month break from your loan repayments.

You’ll have the option to apply for up to two non-consecutive repayment holidays in a rolling 12-month period, subject to approval.

You won't need to make your usual repayment during your repayment holiday, but we'll still charge daily interest on your loan balance. This means that you'll pay more overall, and your loan’s original term will be extended.

Make changes to your loan repayments

You cannot change the amount each month, but you can change your existing loan repayments by contacting us over the phone.
You can change the repayment date up to twice a year, to any day of the month except the 29th, 30th and 31st.

Or you can change the bank account from which a direct debit is collected from.

To restart a direct debit you’ve cancelled for your loan, use our online form to restart a cancelled direct debit.

Borrow more

Eligible to borrow more

You can apply online for extra borrowing. Just tell us how much more money you need to borrow and we’ll give you an instant decision.

You can do this online if:

  • you have a Halifax current account
  • the loan is held in your name only
  • you hold only one existing Halifax loan.

If you don’t currently use online or mobile banking, you can start using the Lloyds app now to see your existing Halifax accounts. Once you’ve downloaded it, you can set it up using your Halifax account details.

Call us using the app and your registered mobile number. You’ll already be securely signed in, so there's no need to remember any passwords. Plus, as you’ve already selected the type of question, we can get to talk to you much faster.
