Low Carbon Heating

Your home is surrounded by lots of natural resources, so why not make the most of them? A heat pump or solar panel system converts natural warmth and solar energy into fuel for your home.

The following measures will be most effective if your home is fully insulated. Find out more about the eligible measures for the Green Living Reward

Biomass Pellet Boilers

Wood-fuelled heating systems, also called 'biomass systems' burn wood pellets, chips or logs to provide warmth in a single room, or to power central heating and hot water cylinders to heat the whole house.

Air Source Heat Pump

Air source heat pumps (ASHPs) absorb heat from the air outside your home, then pump it into your radiators or underfloor heating systems to warm your home.

Ground Source Heat Pump

Ground source heat pumps (GSHPs) use pipes buried in the ground outside your home to extract heat from the earth, which is then used to heat radiators, underfloor or warm air heating systems, and provide hot water in your home.

Solar Thermal (Solar Hot Water Heating)

Solar thermal panels are installed on your roof to capture solar energy. This is then used to heat the hot water in your home.
