Credit cards
You can view your credit card statements and recent transactions, make balance transfers, request new card limits and make your monthly card payments online.
If you haven't already added your credit card to 'My accounts' see the 'How to add accounts' page.
Viewing your recent transactions
From 'My accounts' select 'Recent transactions' from the 'Take me to' dropdown box and click 'Go'. Alternatively, select your credit card from 'My accounts' then select 'Recent transactions' on the left of the page.
These are your most recent card transactions, including any recent payments, and will appear on your next statement.
Viewing your card statements
From 'My accounts' select 'View statements' from the 'Take me to' dropdown box and click 'Go'. Alternatively, select your credit card from 'My accounts' then select 'Recent statements' from the left hand menu.
Your current statement will be displayed - this will not show either your next months payment due date, or the amount of any recent payments, until your statement is updated for the next month.
In addition to your current statement, you can also view your two previous monthly statements by selecting either 'Month 1' or 'Month 2'. If you've chosen to view your statements Paper-free, you can view earlier stored statements by selecting 'Paper-free documents' from the left hand menu and clicking the document you wish to view from those displayed. Alternatively you can select 'My Paper-free statements' from the Recent statements page. To view any archived documents, select 'Archived' from the Display dropdown box and click 'Go'.
From October 2008 your online statements may also include a Notice of Default Sums. This change is part of the Consumer Credit Act 2006 (CCA) which states that from that date, a Notice must be sent to customers where they have incurred charges for breaking their agreement.
Paying your monthly credit card statement online
Payments made from a suitable Halifax account:
From 'My accounts' select the credit card you wish to pay. Click the 'Online payment' button then from the dropdown list, choose the account you wish to pay the bill from.
Choose between making the minimum payment, or a larger payment amount, then click 'Submit'.
You can choose for the payment to be sent on a particular date by selecting a different 'payment date' before clicking submit.
The payment will take up to 3 working days to process, so please allow for this if your payment has to be received by a specific date.
Payments made from non-Halifax accounts:
You can pay using a Visa Delta/Electron or Switch/Solo debit card issued by another organisation, using a service certified and supported by WorldPay.
From the 'Online payment' page select 'WorldPay Online Payment System'. Enter the amount you wish to pay then click the 'Submit' button. You'll then be taken through the WorldPay payment screens.
Payments using this method can take up to 4 working days to reach your account.
Balance transfers
You can transfer the balances from up to 3 other cards at a time. The minimum transfer amount is £100 and transfers can take up to 10 working days to complete.

Registering for Paper-free
Once you're registered for online banking you can register for the Paper-free service. To register your accounts for Paper-free, select 'My Paper-free documents' from 'My accounts' and then choose 'Document settings'.
Select 'Online' as your method of delivery for the accounts that you want to be Paper-free.
Your new settings will be updated and we'll send you a welcome email confirming you've chosen to bank Paper-free. If any documents are pending dispatch, these will be sent by normal post. Future documents will then be sent Paper-free.
We'll send an email alert every time you receive a Paper-free document from us. It's important that you inform us if you change your email address so that we can let you know when new documents arrive.
Amending your Paper-free settings
You can change your document settings at any time by selecting 'My Paper-free documents' and then selecting 'Document settings'. You can add accounts to Paper-free or, if you prefer, you can go back to receiving paper documents. Just choose 'online' or 'postal' as your method of delivery.
If you remove an account from 'My accounts' that was set up for the Paper-free service, the mailing preference for that account will automatically revert to monthly postal statements.
Your email address
It's important that you update us if you change your email address so we can alert you when new documents are available to view. If we have three consecutive failed attempts to alert you, we'll prompt you to update your email address next time you sign in. If you don’t provide an updated email address within three months, we'll change your document settings back to postal delivery.
If you delete your email address your document settings will be automatically changed to postal delivery. Any documents you've already received Paper-free will remain securely stored online for two years from the date each document was delivered.
