Text alerts.

Our text alerting service lets you keep track of your finances on the move.

We'll send text messages to your mobile to help you look after your bank account. The alerts are free and available to all current account customers, so you'll be able to:

  • Know when to splash the cash or save for your bills
  • Avoid any unplanned overdraft fees
  • Keep an eye out for fraud

Types of alerts



Limit alerts

We'll tell you if you’re near or over your agreed account limit, to help you avoid any unplanned overdraft fees.

 



Balance alerts

We can text you with your balance and the last 6 transactions of the week, on a weekday and time you choose. We'll even tell you when your balance drops below or goes above a chosen limit.



Overseas transaction alerts

If your card is used outside the UK to make a purchase or a withdrawal from a cash machine, we can text you so that you can get in touch if it wasn't made by you.

If you're registered for Online Banking, you can sign in and register for text alerts now.

Register for text alerts

You can also register for text alerts at your nearest branch or call 0345 720 3040 (lines are open Mon-Fri 8am-8pm, Sat 8am-6pm and Sun 9am-5pm).

If you need to cancel, pause or change your text alerts, you can select 'Text alerts' from the 'Your profile' menu in Online Banking. Or alternatively, pop into your nearest branch or give us a call.


Please note: We won't charge you for this service but if you receive texts while abroad, your network service provider may charge you.

If you're aged between 11-15 with an Expresscash account, you can apply for our weekly balance alerts and overseas transaction alerts. Just visit your nearest branch with a parent/guardian to register.
