Hearing impaired

We are always willing to help by writing things down and are equally happy to receive written instructions. In addition, the following services are available:

  • Typetalk - the RNID telephone relay service is used extensively throughout Halifax branches so that we can share a two way conversation with you
  • Textphones are used in key areas of our branches to enable on-screen customer communication to take place.

  • Induction loops are available in some branches. They can be used with the T-setting on hearing aids to enhance sound. We hope to extend this service in the future.
  • A selection of Halifax staff are British Sign Language trained and we can also arrange an interpreter, free of charge. Just ask your local branch for details.
