If you’re 16 or 17, Cardcash lets you take control of your money. After all, you’ve got more important things to worry about! Whether you’re getting tickets for a gig, shopping or going out, this account will make life easier.

You only need £10 to open the account. Then, when you’re 18, it's easy to move to one of our great current accounts.

So what do I get?

• A Visa Electron debit card, so you can withdraw cash or pay for goods and services wherever you see the Visa Electron sign, either in the UK or abroad.
• You can use our Express Pay-In boxes and Immediate Deposit Machines in branch (if available) to pay cash notes and cheques into your account.
• Withdraw up to £300 a day, free of charge, from any Halifax or Bank of Scotland cash machine. (Immediate Deposit Machines are only available in some branches.)
• Withdraw amounts over £300 in any branch.
• 24-hour online banking so you can manage your account whenever you want from wherever you want. You can check your balances, transfer money and even receive your statements online.
• Telephone banking service which you can use to check you balance and transfer money. Just call 08458 50 55 25.
• A special rate of interest on the money in your account.

However, you won't be able to withdraw amounts under £300 in branches. You also cannot pay in money or ask routine questions about your account in branches.

Calls from BT landlines will cost no more than 4p a minute. The price of calls through other phone companies and from mobile phones will be different.
