Ultimate Reward Current Account
This information is an overview of Halifax Ultimate Reward Current Account, Halifax High Interest Current Account, Halifax moneyback Current Account, Halifax Current Account, Student Current Account, Cardcash and Expresscash. Each account has its own detailed conditions and you should read a copy of these before opening an account.
You can withdraw up to £1,200 a day from any Halifax branch without prior notification.

Ultimate Reward Current Account
The insurance cover and other services that come with the Ultimate Reward Current Account Benefits Package are renewed on a monthly basis and will end if: (i) your Ultimate Reward Current Account is closed; (ii) you fail to pay the monthly fee for the account; (iii) your account is changed to another type of account with us; (iv) your residential address is no longer in the UK. Any other insurance policies that you have taken out yourself at a discount as part of the Benefits Package will not be affected.
Halifax High Interest Current Account
Different rates apply to customers who do not pay at least £1,000 into their Halifax High Interest Current Account each month.
If you make payments of at least £1,000 a month into your account you will automatically qualify for higher credit interest rates and lower authorised overdraft interest rates. If payments of at least £1,000 a month are not made into your account over a two month period then you will lose this benefit until you pay in at least £1,000 a month for three consecutive months.
Halifax moneyback Current Account
This account is no longer available to new customers.
Moneyback is only available on debit card purchases. 'Debit card purchases' means goods and services bought using the card or card account number. The following debit card transactions do not qualify for moneyback - obtaining cash, foreign currency or traveller's cheques, the settlement of credit card bills, wire transfers of money orders, the purchase of stocks and shares.
To qualify for moneyback, you must make monthly payments of at least £1,000 into your moneyback Current Account. If you miss two or more consecutive monthly payments of at least £1,000, you will not qualify for moneyback. If after that you pay at least £1,000 per month for three consecutive months into your moneyback Current Account, you will re-qualify for moneyback on debit card purchases made after the start of the fourth month. Moneyback is paid into your moneyback Current Account on each anniversary of account opening, or each anniversary of the date you re-qualified for moneyback, whichever is applicable.
All credit facilities are subject to a satisfactory appraisal of status and financial standing and are only available to people aged 18 or over.
Your account must be credited with cleared funds of £100 before we can send you your Visa Debit/cheque guarantee card.

In calculating the EARs, no account has been taken of the introduction of further charges. We will work out how much interest you owe us for each day your account is overdrawn. We will charge any interest you owe us under the Halifax Bank Account conditions at the end of each month. Interest is calculated daily and paid monthly. All interest rates quoted are variable.
Details of interest rates and charges
Bank of Scotland is a member of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. Where a customer has made deposits in a savings or bank account, payments under the scheme are limited to 100% of the first £35,000, subject to a maximum payment to any one depositor of £35,000. This limit applies provided the insolvency or other default of the bank or firm concerned takes place after 1st October 2007. Please note that accounts with Bank of Scotland include accounts in its divisions and trading names, for example, Halifax, Intelligent Finance and Birmingham Midshires. Most deposits denominated in sterling and other European Economic Area currencies and euro made with offices of the bank within the European Economic Area are covered. There are different levels of protection for other investments covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. Further details of the scheme are available on request.
