Dont get caught out. Know your PIN

You must now use your PIN instead of your signature to be sure you can pay with your debit or credit card. So don’t get caught out at the front of the queue, make sure you know your PIN – and enjoy a faster, more convenient way to shop.

Do you find it difficult to remember your PIN?

Choose it
You can choose a new number that’s easier to remember. For example, the birthday of someone you know say, 2103, or your wedding anniversary, so 29th of April would become 2904.

Change it
You can change your PIN at most UK cash machines. Simply key in your existing PIN, select PIN services and follow the on-screen instructions – it’s easy and will only take a couple of minutes.

Use it
Now all you have to do is use your PIN when shopping. And remember, the PIN you use when out shopping is always the same 4-digit number you use at the cash machine.

What if I forget my PIN?
If you have forgotten your PIN, simply call us on 08457 20 30 40 and we will send you a written PIN reminder – you will receive this within three working days.

What if I lock my PIN?
If you forget your PIN and enter it incorrectly three times, your PIN will be ‘locked’, preventing you from using it. Locking your PIN isn’t the end of the world. If you remember your PIN you can ‘unlock’ it at most UK cash machines. Just key in your existing PIN, select PIN services and follow the on-screen instructions.
