Balance transfers
To transfer a balance to your Halifax credit card from another card provider, call us on
08457 28 38 48* (8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm weekends), give us the transfer details (amount, account number and card issuer) and we'll take care of the rest. The transfer should take no more than ten working days.
Balance transfers can be made from most credit and some store cards, excluding other Halifax or Bank of Scotland products.
Changing your credit limit
Your current credit limit is shown on your monthly statement. Your limit is based on an assessment of your income and borrowing commitments. We are happy to review your credit limit based on an assessment of your ability to pay the new amount, though you must have held the card for at least 6 months.
You can request an increase or decrease to your credit limit through the online banking service. Just sign in and select your credit card, then select 'Change details' from the left hand options, followed by 'Request new credit limit'.
If you're not registered for our online service, then call 08457 28 38 48* (8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm weekends).
*Maximum 4p per minute from BT landlines. Calls from other networks may vary.
