All those treasured possessions, the little things that make a house a home, are covered for the cost of repairing or replacing them on a new for old basis (certain limits apply to single articles and high risk items). And while the cover is generous, the cost is kept low.

And Halifax always gives you extra:

• Contents are repaired or replaced at their full value on a new for old basis
• Food in the freezer, up to £500, is covered automatically
• £250 cover for visitors’ belongings
• Up to £2,000 cover for downloaded electronic data
• Cover for up to £5,000 worth of office equipment
