Overview
Wherever you’re off to on holiday, you want to make sure you’re properly covered against the unexpected – and that’s exactly what Halifax Single Trip Travel Insurance is all about.
As you would expect from the Halifax, Single trip travel insurance offers all the normal cover for accidents, injury, healthcare and legal expenses, plus a few extras like lost baggage and travel delay compensation. We even include travel disruption cover as standard which covers you for airspace closure, failure of provider and catastrophe cover e.g. volcanic eruptions, plus more. And if you’re off skiing or playing golf, don’t worry. You can extend your policy to cover lost, stolen or damaged skis, snowboards, ski boots and ski poles, as well as golf equipment.
Single trip travel insurance covers you for any trip abroad up to 185 days long and for UK trips too, as long as they are over three days and include pre-booked accommodation. It only takes a few minutes to get a quote online and then you can relax and enjoy your trip.

** The policy will pay up to £30 after the first full 12 hours delay, and £20 for each full 12 hours delay thereafter (up to a maximum of £250), if after 12 hours of your outward journey you choose to abandon your trip we will pay your cancellation costs up to £5,000 under the cancellation section of this policy less the excess (unless you have paid the appropriate additional premium for excess waiver).

Additional cover
Planning an active holiday? No problem, you can select additional cover on your single trip travel insurance so that your expensive equipment and clothing is properly covered. Additional premiums apply.
Winter sports
You’ll get down those slopes even faster if you know your equipment is properly covered. Valid for 24 days, winter sports cover will protect you against damage to your own equipment and also covers hired equipment so you can avoid expensive local insurance. It will even compensate you if the pistes are closed.

Golf cover
The fairways are breath-taking, the greens are perfect, but it’s no fun if your clubs have been stolen or damaged. Golf cover can be added to your single trip travel insurance to cover you for loss, damage or theft of equipment and clothing up at £1,000 (the amount you'll receive should you make a claim is subject to a maximum of £300 for any single item, and making a reasonable allowance for wear, tear, and depreciation.)
The cover includes:
- Up to £50 per day (up to a maximum of £400) to cover the cost of hiring golf equipment if yours is lost, stolen or delayed for over 12 hours on your outward journey;
- Up to £40 per day (up to a maximum of £200) for the loss of pre-booked green fees should the pre-booked course abroad become unplayable due to adverse weather conditions.
