    Buildings Insurance

    This covers the structure of your home and its outbuildings. This includes your roof, walls, windows and ceilings. It also includes permanent fixtures like fitted kitchens and bathrooms. It covers you against damage caused by things like fire, flood and storm, as well as subsidence and vandalism.

It covers you against theft as well as damage caused by things like fire, smoke, storm or flood. The cover limits below are part of, not in addition to, your overall Contents Cover limit.     Specified items cover

    We need to know about items worth more than £2,000, other than home appliances, and furniture which isn’t antique. For example, items, such as laptops, TVs, jewellery or bikes which individually cost more than £2,000.

    You can also choose to cover any specified items in the home, or both in and away from the home. 

    For items worth more than £2,000 individually, there's a £40,000 individual item limit and a £100,000 total specified item limit.

We offer additional features and optional extras

  • Accidental damage (included with Silver and Gold)

    Covers you against accidental damage to your home and the things in it. So if a football smashes your window or a drink is spilt on your carpet, we’ll pay to repair the damage or replace your things.

    Away from home (optional on Bronze, Silver and Gold)

    With this cover, things like rings, watches, bikes and laptops are protected whenever you take them with you outside your home. You’re covered for loss or theft. Our Gold or Silver level of cover also includes accidental damage.

    If a family member temporarily lives away from home to study, their contents are included too. The limit for this cover is £5,000 or the Away from home cover limit you’ve chosen, whichever is lower.

    We cover things like rings, watches, bikes and laptops whenever you take these things with you outside your home. You’re covered if they’re lost or stolen, or accidentally damaged if you have this cover. This includes cover for students’ contents when in university halls of residence and other student accommodation.

    This pays up to £50,000 in case you need to take legal action. It gives you access to a 24/7 helpline for legal advice. It covers things like contract, employment and neighbour disputes.

    Home emergency cover (optional on Bronze, Silver and Gold)

    This protects you against emergency repairs which wouldn't normally be covered by your home insurance. There's a 24/7 helpline, so if your boiler breaks down or your power fails, you can get help fast. It pays for repairs up to £1,000 a time. And there's no excess to pay.
