Please Note - These conditions apply to all applications made using the investment web pages. If you register for and apply through our Online Banking Service, the Online Banking Service conditions apply.
1. How do these conditions work?
a You can apply for certain plans issued by St. Andrew's Life Assurance plc, Halifax Life Limited or HBOS Investment Fund Managers Limited ("HFS plans") by using the investment web pages we have designed for this purpose within this website.
b By applying to invest in this way, you accept these conditions which apply to online applications and agree that we may communicate with you by email or through our website. We will not accept an online application using any other method.
c These conditions explain the relationship between you and us in relation to the online application service.
d You should read these conditions carefully to understand how the online application service works and your and our rights and duties under them.
e If there is any conflict between these conditions and the relevant HFS plan conditions, these conditions will apply.
f If you apply for a HFS plan through the investment web pages you must make sure that the details are correct before you send them.
g Your application does not bind us until we accept it. We will confirm that we have received your application by sending you a screen message. The screen message does not confirm that your application has been accepted.
h The relevant investment pages on this website explain how you apply for certain HFS plans by using the web pages that we have designed for this purpose and how we will acknowledge acceptance of your application.
i If, at any point, the flow of information between us is interrupted (for example, your computer crashes or you can no longer access our website), and you are not certain whether your application has been sent or not, do not try to submit your application again. Instead, for ISA applications please telephone us on 01904 61 11 10 (Monday -Friday 8am to 6pm & Saturday 8am to 12pm) and for all other applications please telephone us on 0845 602 00 00 (Monday - Sunday 24 hour coverage) and we will confirm the position. Calls to numbers starting 0845 from BT landlines will cost a maximum of 4p per minute. The price of calls from other telephone companies will vary.
2 Can we withdraw, suspend or change this online application service?
a We can suspend or withdraw all or part of this online application service at any time. If we give you notice either by writing to you or by publishing the change on this web page, we may change these conditions for any reason.
b If we have already received an application from you before we gave notice of the change, we will carry out your application in line with the conditions before the change is made.
c We may give you written notice by writing to the last email address you notified to us. For this reason, if you have notified your email address to us, you must make sure that we have your most up-to-date email address at all times.
3 What is the extent of our liability?
a We do not accept responsibility for any loss you or anybody else may suffer because any applications you send us are sent in error, are delayed, fail to reach us or are distorted unless this is caused by our wilful default or negligence.
