Settlement figures

Call 08457 44 44 55 (lines open Mon-Fri 8am-10pm, Sat 8:30am-6pm, Sun 9:30am-5:30pm).

  • If your existing loan agreement begins with 7/-

Call 08457 24 34 44 (lines open Mon-Fri 8am-8pm, Sat 9am-6pm) and select option 3.

Alternatively, you can send a request by post to the following addresses:

  • If your existing loan agreement begins with 84-

Halifax Bank of Scotland , Charterhall Drive, Chester CH88 3AN

  • If your existing loan agreement begins with 7/

Halifax Settlement Department, PO BoS 548, Lovell Park, Leeds, LS1 1WU

The amount you have agreed to pay us includes interest charged to the end of the loan term. When you make your loan payments you'll only have to pay a proportion of the interest still owing. This is because the settlement figure is calculated with the benefit of a statutory rebate of interest that you are entitled to when repaying your loan early.

There is no charge for repaying your loan early, but as described above you'll pay a proportion of the interest that would have been paid.

Finding out the amount left to pay on your secured loan (Further Advance)

If you're already registered for our online service, just add your mortgage on to My Accounts, and the balance will be shown on the Account Summary screen.

This is not a final settlement figure - for an exact figure, call 08456 03 03 52 (Lines open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 4pm on Saturdays) and one will be posted out to you.

Borrowing more money on an existing Halifax mortgage

As an existing customer you can apply for a Further Advance on your mortgage and the monthly payments will be included with your regular monthly payment (subject to acceptance).

Lump sum partial repayments

You can pay off lump sum amounts towards the outstanding unsecured loan balance, but you will only be eligible for a statutory rebate of interest if you pay the balance off in full.

Send your cheque, payable to Halifax with your name and agreement number written on the back of the cheque to:

  • If your existing loan agreement begins with 84-

Halifax Bank of Scotland , Charterhall Drive, Chester CH88 3AN

  • If your existing loan agreement begins with 7/

Halifax Settlement Department, PO BoS 548, Lovell Park, Leeds, LS1 1WU

The amount of your monthly repayment and the total amount to pay under the loan will stay the same but due to your part repayment you will repay the total amount repayable under the loan sooner.

Additional unsecured loan borrowing

You can have up to four separate unsecured loans with us at any time subject to your financial status and ability to repay.

If you have an existing unsecured loan you may be able to borrow more by taking out a new loan that can be used to repay your current loan and leave you with cash to spare, however this depends on how long you've had your existing loan.
