How to apply for a mortgage

You can apply for a Halifax mortgage safely and securely using our online application form. It won’t take you long either. Single applicants should be able to complete the form in around 20 minutes and joint applicants in about 30 minutes.

Just make sure you have the following information handy:

• Your addresses for the last three years
• Details of any existing Halifax accounts
• Your employment and income details for the last 18 months
• Any credit commitments
• Details of your current mortgage or rent if you pay one
• The details of the property you're buying
