Applying for a Halifax Guaranteed Reserve
It only takes a few minutes to apply for a Halifax Guaranteed Reserve account.
Before you begin
Make sure you have the following details to hand:
- Your Halifax Current Account details (applicable if you are an existing customer only)
- Previous address details if you have lived at your current address for less than 3 years
If you are applying for a joint account, please ensure you have the above details for the second applicant, as well as their personal details.

Click 'Apply Now' and sign in to the online service to start your application. | Click 'Apply Now' to register for our online service and open a Halifax Guaranteed Reserve account at the same time. |
We need to verify the identity of all of our customers. In the first instance we use a system of electronic identification and if this is successful, that's all we need to do.
We will search credit reference and fraud prevention agencies to check your identity, credit status and help us make decisions. For this application, we will assess you on your own (except for another party to this application). By signing/submitting the application, you declare that your financial associate's finances will not affect our decision. We check your declaration and may decline the application if it is inaccurate.
If false or inaccurate information is provided and fraud is identified, details will be passed to fraud prevention agencies to prevent fraud and money laundering.
