This product may be right for you if:

  • You want to manage your savings in branch, by telephone or online
  • You are aged 11+

How to fund your account (Opening Credit)

You can fund your account in a way that’s convenient for you:

  • Over the counter at any Halifax or Bank of Scotland branch.
  • By standing order or a money transfer from another financial institution. You will need to quote your new account details.  Please Note - External bank payments are only accepted via BACS.
  • By posting us a cheque to the following address:

Please make your cheque payable to the account holders name and include your new account details on the reverse.

Please note interest rates are fixed on the day we receive your opening deposit. Please check with your branch or on the Halifax website for the current rates.

Before you begin - make sure you have the following details to hand:

  • Your Halifax Current Account details (applicable if you are an existing customer only)
  • Previous address details if you have lived at your current address for less than 3 years

If you are applying for a joint account, please ensure you have the above details for the second applicant, as well as their personal details.
