Trading Funds information

Funds are pooled investments which offer you cost effective exposure to a much wider range of stocks and shares than you would be able to obtain as an individual. This has the effect of spreading your money between different sectors, helping to reduce the risk involved in stock market investing.

The two main types of funds are Unit Trusts and Open Ended Investment Companies (OEICs), OEICs are also known as Investment Companies with Vairable Capital (ICVCs).

The money you invest in funds is managed by experienced, professional managers who will do their best to make sure that the fund achieves its objectives - be it a regular income or investment growth. Funds should be seen a medium to long term investment and although funds are lower risk then investing in equities, you may receive back less than the amount you invested.
