£125 TO SWITCH USING THE CURRENT ACCOUNT SWITCH SERVICE.

Terms and conditions.

To qualify for the £125 switching offer (“the offer”) you must use the ‘Current Account Switch Service’ and meet the following conditions:

  • Use the 'Current Account Switch Service' to switch into a new or existing, Reward Current Account, Ultimate Reward Current Account (£15 monthly fee) or Halifax Current Account ("your account").
  • Use the ‘Current Account Switch Service’ to transfer all the active credits and debits from the bank account that you hold with another bank and close this account.

You are not eligible for the offer if you have previously received any other offer or benefits for switching to a Halifax bank account at any point since January 2012 or if you're a Bank of Scotland bank account customer switching to the Halifax.

You are not eligible for the offer if the bank you are switching from does not participate in the Current Account Switch Service. To find out if your bank participates, visit the Payments Council website.

What else do you need to know?

  1. The offer applies to applications received in branch, online or by phone between 9 February 2016 and 22 March 2016. The offer is subject to change and can be withdrawn without notice at any time.
  2. The offer does not automatically guarantee an overdraft. Any application made for an overdraft will be subject to status. If your account has an overdraft you will not pay any daily overdraft fees for 6 months provided you stay within your planned overdraft limit; if you exceed your planned overdraft limit, then unplanned overdraft fees will still apply.
  3. After 6 months, or if you change your current account, you will be charged daily overdraft fees applicable to the account you hold if you use your overdraft. Please see the Getting Started Guide available in branch or rates, rewards, fees and overdrafts for details on overdraft fees.
  4. If you do not meet the conditions of the offer we may claim back the £125. We will do this by debiting £125 from your account.
  5. Only one offer is available per customer. Joint accounts will only be eligible for one payment. If any joint account customer has already benefited from the offer in their sole name, no payment will be made for that joint account.
  6. The offer will be paid directly into your account within three working days once your switch has completed. The payment will appear as a cash credit.
  7. The offer is not available to employees of Lloyds Banking Group, or if the employee is named on any bank account held in joint names.

Our easy-to-understand overdrafts limits and daily fees

Buffer - £50

Your buffer limit is the amount we allow you to go overdrawn by without incurring any daily overdraft fees.

Amount Daily fee
Up to £50 N/A

Planned overdraft:

A planned overdraft is an agreed amount we allow you to go overdrawn on your account, which you arrange with us in advance of doing so.

The following daily fees apply to the various limits of a planned overdraft:

Amount Daily fee
Up to and including £300* (subject to approval) N/A
£300.01 to £1,999.99 £1
£2,000 to £2,999.99 £2
£3,000 and above £3

*Remember if you do choose to use your Ultimate Reward Current Account overdraft, although you may not incur any overdraft daily fees up to £300, you’ll pay the full £15 monthly account fee if you have had a debit balance (planned or unplanned) by the end of any day during the calendar month.

Unplanned overdraft:

An unplanned overdraft is an overdraft that’s not arranged with us in advance. You could go into an unplanned overdraft if you:

  • Go overdrawn and have no planned overdraft on your account (exceeding your buffer limit or if your account does not have a buffer limit)
  • Exceed your planned overdraft limit

The following daily fees apply to an unplanned overdraft on this account:

Amount Daily fee
All balances (over your planned overdraft limit) £5

Representative example

If you use a planned overdraft of £1,200, then we'll charge you a daily fee of £1. For Ultimate Reward Current Accounts, you will pay the higher monthly account fee of £15 rather than £10 if you use your overdraft. This means there will be an additional indirect cost of £5 if you use the overdraft on this account.
