How do I personalise my card?
You can choose either a picture from the Halifax Image gallery or upload one of your own. The pages of the website will take you through the application process.

What format does my picture need to be in and is there any size restriction?
You can upload picture files in JPEG (.jpg) PNG GIF BITMAP (.bmp) or TIFF formats.
Your picture should be at least 420 x 420 pixels and we recommend no more than 5MB (megabytes) in size. Please note that the larger the picture your picture is, the longer it will take to load.

Unfortunately, no. There are certain images that we will not be able to put on your card. Please refer to our Photo Guidelines for full details of what we can and can't accept.

Can I upload a picture of my family or friends?
Yes you can - as long as you have their permission. Or, if they are under 16, permission from their parent or guardian.
If someone in your Halifax Photocard picture complains to us, we may have to cancel it and reissue you with a non-personalised debit card.

I have a joint account, will both cards be replaced if I personalise my card?
No, each card is treated individually, so you can personalise it whilst the other account holder can keep a non-personalised card; or choose their own image, whatever they prefer. Charges are also applied individually so you both get to have your first picture free.

How will I know if my image has been accepted?

If your image doesn't meet the 'photo guidelines', you can simply upload another picture which does meet these guidelines.

I don’t want to receive any marketing material to the e-mail address I have given you as part of this application. How can I stop this?
We will only use the e-mail address you provide to contact you about your Halifax Photocard application. We may also contact you by using other contact details we hold for you on your account if we feel appropriate.

How can I change the picture on my card if I change my mind?
You can change the picture on your card whenever you like, but remember the photocard service is being withdrawn from Friday 13th March 2015. After that date, new photocards cannot be requested.
