Keep in mind...
If a Direct Debit isn’t taken for 37 months, it will become inactive, and your bank or building society will remove the details from their systems. If this happens, you’ll need to set up a new one.
Set up or change your Direct Debit:
- You can set up or change your Direct Debit at any time online using a computer.
- When your Direct Debit is in place, it will show on your statement and your online account. Until then, continue to make payments yourself.
- Always make sure you have enough money in your account to cover both your Direct Debit and any extra payments.
- If you have a Direct Debit set up, any extra payments won’t usually reduce your Direct Debit amount.
- To help you manage your account we may increase your payment if:
- You usually pay a fixed amount or percentage and it’s not enough to cover your minimum payment.
- You have any missed payments or reduce your payment to avoid putting your account into credit.
Cancel your Direct Debit:
- You can cancel your Direct Debit at any time online using a computer.
- If you cancel your Direct Debit near your due date, we may not be able to cancel the current payment. It will already have begun processing.
- Once the Direct Debit has been cancelled, you'll need to pay at least the minimum amount each month.
- Please allow enough time for your payment to reach your account before the date it's due.
