Whether you’re buying or selling a home, or releasing equity from a property that you currently own, you’ll need to appoint a conveyancer to carry out the legal work for you.
Our conveyancing service allows you to compare quotes from up to 200 conveyancers based on what's important to you - cost, location or service rating - saving you time getting separate quotes from various companies.
Using the Halifax Conveyancing Service isn’t a requirement of applying for a mortgage with us and inclusion of a firm on our eConveyancing panel does not constitute a recommendation or endorsement of that firm by the Halifax.
Once you’ve appointed a conveyancer, you’ll receive a welcome pack. As soon as you’ve read, completed and returned the necessary documentation, your conveyancer will begin the process of applying for searches, raising enquiries and sending you a report, including the legal document you sign to formalise your mortgage agreement (your mortgage deed), and the binding agreement to purchase your property (your purchase contract).
Your conveyancer will help you right the way through to completion day, and you’ll be kept updated throughout the whole process.
*except payments incurred on your behalf, such as search fees etc.
