App notifications explained

  • App notifications are also called push notifications. You can get them on your mobile phone or tablet from an app you have installed.

Notifications from our Mobile Banking app can tell you something about your money or your account. There are different types of notifications and you can select which ones you want to receive.

For example, we can tell you when money comes in or goes out of your account, or when you make a purchase on your debit card.

You can find out more on the notifications page in the app.

Sometimes we have to send you important texts and emails even if you’ve told us you don’t want push notifications.

  • You'll need to have downloaded our app to your mobile or tablet device.

To get notifications, your device needs an Internet connection. So if you're out and about, and not connected to Wi-Fi then you'll need to have data enabled.

When you’re abroad, you'll need roaming enabled when you're not connected to Wi-Fi. Your mobile network may charge you for roaming services, so please check with them.

  • If you’re new to the app or change your device, you'll need to allow notifications again.

To do this, toggle on notifications in the app and on your phone.

If you need help with this, view the notifications page in the app. Just turn on the notifications you want. If your device settings aren’t turned on, we’ll show you how to do it.
