Help to Buy: equity loan scheme.

Halifax is supporting the first part of the Government's Help to Buy scheme (Equity Loan) which launched on 1st April 2013. The scheme aims to help both first time buyers and home movers who have deposits of at least 5% to buy a new build home through offering a shared equity scheme.

In England and Wales the Government lends up to 40% of the value of the property in Greater London, or up to 20% of the value of the property outside of Greater London. In Scotland the Government lends up to 15% of the value of the property.
