How to do it
Let us show you step by step.

- Download the Halifax app.
- Register for Online Banking.
- Receive your activation code in the post and input it in the app.
- Sign in to the app.
- Select More and then Confirm your ID from within the Manage Account section of your Spending Account.
- Take a picture of your passport and a selfie using our app.
- We'll check the pictures you've sent us and email confirmation to you within the next 24 hours.

How to register for Online Banking

- Download the Halifax app.
- To start registering for Online Banking select Create sign-in details.
- Input the requested details.

- Select your Money Smart account from the dropdown list.

- Create secure sign-in details.

- Read our Online Banking agreement, if you are happy to continue select Agree.

- An activation code will be posted to your parent or guardian.
- When you receive your code sign in to Online Banking and enter the activation code.

- Enter the requested randomly selected three characters from your memorable information.
- Select Continue to see your security setting options.

- Choose how quickly you would like our app to sign you out after you have stopped using it.
Select:
- Turn on Face ID to securely sign in to Online Banking with just a glance at your camera
- Keep using memorable information to continue entering three characters from your memorable information to sign in
- Ask me later and you will continue to use memorable information to sign in but we will ask again during a future sign in.
You can now use the app to check your spending and saving, pay in cheques, view your card details and many other things.
How to prove who you are

- Open your Halifax app, sign in and select More from within the Smart Spending section of the app.

- Select Confirm your ID from within the Manage Account section of your Smart Spending account.

- Confirm that you have a UK/EU passport with you now.
- Take a picture of your passport following the guidance provided on our app.

- Take a selfie by following the guidance provided on our app.

- You're now done. We'll email confirmation to you after your pictures have been checked.
