Still searching? Just enter your town, city or postcode and we’ll show your nearest approved dealers.

If you’ve already found a car, enter the dealer’s name, location or postcode to check they’re on our approved list.

If you find a car dealer on our map, they’re on our approved list. You can select the dealer when you arrange your car finance in your Online Banking.

Ask us to add a dealer

If the car dealer you’re searching for isn’t on the Halifax-approved list, you can ask us to add them.

We usually reply within 48 hours, but it might take a little longer if we get your request at the weekend or on a bank holiday.

Although there are thousands of Halifax approved dealers, there are some we don’t offer finance through, including:

  • Cinch
  • Motorpoint

If we can’t add your dealer, or you’re buying from a private seller, we may be able to offer you a personal loan.

When car finance isn’t an option

We only offer finance for new and used cars from Halifax-approved dealers.

Another way of borrowing might suit you better if:

  • You want to buy a commercial vehicle, motorbike, motorhome or caravan.
  • We can’t add your preferred dealer to our approved list.
  • You want to buy from a private seller.

PCP helps you finance a car, unlike a personal loan you won't pay off the full value of the car or own it until the final payment.

Hire Purchase (HP)

Hire Purchase is another financing option that you pay higher monthly payments when compared to PCP but you own the car at the end of your agreement term.

Car leasing

A car lease works like a long-term rental. It allows you to drive a new car for an agreed period of time and mileage for a fixed monthly rental.

You won’t have the option to own the car, but it does mean you could drive a brand-new car within your monthly budget.
