Representative example

Based on example borrowing of £1,200 with an account fee of £15 per month and an interest rate on purchases of 22.94% p.a. variable, you'll receive a 55.0% APR representative variable. Credit limits may vary based on your personal circumstances.

Your standard interest rates will be linked to the Bank of England Base Rate. This means it will change automatically in line with changes to the Base Rate, but any promotional rates and offers you have won't.

As our standard interest rates are variable it means we can also change them for other reasons in the future if we need to.

Good to know

  • Cashback will be awarded monthly to your credit card account - the day after your statement date. 
  • Cashback won't be treated as a payment and you must make at least your minimum monthly payment on time each month.
  • Paying only the minimum monthly payment will take longer to repay and cost you more in interest.
  • You’ll earn cashback on card purchases made by you or an additional card holder. You won’t earn it on anything else added to your account.
  • To continue to earn cashback and access benefits, make sure you manage your credit card in line with the terms and conditions.
  • You will still be charged cash withdrawal fees and interest will be charged from the day you take it out.
  • To access and use the full range of benefits on the World Elite Mastercard® and check your cashback balance, you should register for Online Banking and download the Mobile Banking App.

What else do I need to know about the Halifax World Elite Mastercard®?

Features that come as standard

  • Section 75 protection on most purchases of over £100 but not more than £30,000.
  • Manage your account online. From your computer, tablet or phone, you can check balances, recent transactions and statements. You can also make payments, request transfers and more.
  • Fraud protection. You won’t be charged for transactions you didn’t make, as long as you tell us right away when you spot something that’s not quite right, or if you lose your card.
  • Lots of payment options. You can make your monthly payments in several ways, including bank transfer, debit card and regular Direct Debit payments.
  • UK call centres. Our UK-based contact centres are just a phone call away. We're here to help with essential services.
  • Contactless card. Make payments up to £100 securely and quickly wherever you see the contactless symbol. You can also add your card details to a compatible mobile device, ready to use online and at checkouts.
  • Paper-free statements. Monthly statements are delivered online, and we’ll let you know by email when your statement is ready to view online.
