Get ready. Jet set. Go.

Before you check in, check out what you need to do - here are some things you don't want to forget about before travelling.

1. Stay healthy

Depending on your destination, it’s important to get vaccinated. Many vaccines and treatments are provided by the NHS, but some will cost you money. Remember to book an appointment with your GP at least 8 weeks before you travel to make sure you’re covered. Find out more on the NHS website.

2. Investigate entry & exit fees

Many countries operate entry and exit formalities. Check to see if you need to apply for a visa in advance, as this can have fees. See the UK government's foreign travel advice online to find out more.

3. Get travel insurance

4. Check bank card fees

5. Get a European Health Insurance Card

If you’re travelling in Europe, don't forget to apply for an EHIC to get discounted or free state-provided healthcare in all EEA countries and Switzerland. The card is free via the NHS on the link below - beware of any unofficial websites charging for it.

6. Order travel money

The UK may fast be becoming a cashless society, but many places in the world aren’t. Be sure to take physical money in the local currency with you. Order your travel money from us before 12pm, and we’ll deliver it direct to your door the next day.

7. Look at expiry dates

Make sure you take the most up to date debit or credit card on your travels if you’ve recently received a new one.

8. Pack adaptors

When you're travelling, chances are you're going to need an electrical adaptor. Research the best options in advance, and avoid the overpriced ones at the airport.

9. Pause memberships

Subscriptions and home deliveries are incredibly convenient, except when you're away. Remember to freeze or reschedule any deliveries until you get back.

10. Check your contact details

Make sure your email address and phone numbers are up to date so that we could contact you when you're away if needed. Sign in to Online Banking and then click on Your Profile to see your details.

11. Scan your passport

Take a photo or scan of your passport and email it to yourself and your travel partner, in the event that it gets lost or stolen.

12. Arrange your airport travel

While it may seem more convenient to take a taxi, public transport to and from airports will often save you a lot of extra cash that you can use on your holiday.

13. Save our number

14. Weigh your baggage

Airlines can be very strict about baggage requirements, and may charge if your bags are overweight. Make sure your luggage isn’t too heavy before leaving home to avoid any extra fees.
