Many shops, restaurants, and businesses have contactless reader devices, which make transactions faster and smoother. You'll still need to use your PIN for payments over £100 and where contactless is not available. |

At Halifax, we're also putting in Talking ATMs as we replace older cash machines. With a Talking ATM you can plug in your headphones and listen to instructions to help you do your banking. And if you plug in your headphones first of all, you’ll hear a message that guides you to the card slot and PIN pad. When using an ATM, always shield your PIN to stop anyone seeing it and don’t be distracted by others. If you notice anyone acting suspiciously, please do not use the machine and contact your nearest branch or the police. |
