What else do you need to know?

  1. The offer applies to applications received in branch, online or by phone from 19th July. The offer is subject to change and can be withdrawn without notice at any time.
  2. The offer does not automatically guarantee an overdraft. Any application made for an overdraft will be subject to status. If your account has an overdraft you will not pay any daily overdraft fees for 6 months provided you stay within your planned overdraft limit; if you exceed your planned overdraft limit, then unplanned overdraft fees will still apply.
  3. After 6 months, or if you change your account, you will be charged daily overdraft fees applicable to the account you hold if you use your overdraft. Please see the Getting Started Guide applicable to your account for full details on overdraft fees. You will have been given a Getting Started Guide when you opened your account, but if you would like another one, please ask in branch or look at
  4. If you do not meet the conditions of the offer we may claim back the £100. We will do this by debiting £100 from your account.
  5. Only one offer is available per customer. Joint accounts will only be eligible for one payment. If any joint account customer has already benefited from the offer in their sole name, no payment will be made for that joint account.
  6. The offer will be paid directly into your account before the switch has completed. The payment will appear as a cash credit.
  7. The offer is not available to employees of Lloyds Banking Group, or if the employee is named on any bank account held in joint names.

£10 overdraft buffer.

If you are overdrawn by £10 or less our overdraft buffer means you won’t pay any planned or unplanned overdraft fees. Overdrafts are subject to application and approval, and are repayable on demand.

The overdraft.

If you use… Your daily fee will be…
a planned overdraft up to and including £1,999.99 £1 a day
a planned overdraft of between £2,000 and £2,999.99 £2 a day
a planned overdraft of £3,000 and over £3 a day
an unplanned overdraft £5 a day or £1 a day with Control

What is Control

Control is an add-on for our Current Account costing £10 per month, which can automatically stop a transaction going ahead if it’ll take your account balance into an unplanned overdraft. For example:

  • Using your debit card in shops or online (including cash withdrawals)
  • Direct Debits (for example, mortgages, loans or rent)
  • Standing orders.

This safety feature prevents any unplanned overdraft fees and keeps a limit on your spending. It’s ideal for people who often don’t have the available funds to make payments and prevents unexpected charges for unplanned borrowing.

There are some exceptions to this, which mean you could still go into an unplanned overdraft, including:

  • If you've used your debit card somewhere where a retailer can't check with us, like on an aeroplane.
  • If the Planned Overdraft limit on your account is reduced and you don't have enough money to keep within your new limit.
  • The debiting of account fees, such as the £10 a month Control fee or overdraft fees.

Summary of fees that will apply with Control

Fee type Current Account with Control
Monthly Control account fee £10
Planned daily overdraft fees
  • £1 for balances less than £1,999.99
  • £2 for balances between £2,000 and £2,999.99
  • £3 for balances of £3,000 and over.
Unplanned daily fees £1 per day

Important information about Control:

  • Control stops transactions when there is not enough money in your Current Account. This means your mortgage or rent, loan and credit card repayments and utility bills won’t be paid if they would take you over your unplanned overdraft.
  • If you have any unprocessed payments or outstanding fees and charges when you register, these will still be processed (even if it takes you into an unplanned overdraft). In this case the usual fees will apply. We offer all our customers a grace period to avoid any overdraft fees; simply pay in enough money to cover any pending payments by midnight on the date the payment is due. The money needs to be immediately available to use.

You can find out more detailed information about Overdrafts such as our fees and common terms or even use our overdraft calculator.
