Post Office® services
Can't make it into one of our branches? We've teamed up with the Post Office® so you can access your Current or Easycash Account through any of their 11,500 branches.

What can you do?
Paying in cash and cheques
Paying in cash
- You can pay in both notes and coins at a Post Office® counter.
- Cash deposit limits vary. You should check the cash deposit limit at the Post Office® you intend to use.
Paying in cash using your debit card
- Use your debit card to pay cash into your account.
- Once your deposit is counted and a receipt issued, you will have instant access to your money.
Paying in cash using a paying-in slip
- If you do not have a debit card for your account or if you prefer to, you can still use a pre-printed paying-in slip to pay cash in. As paying-in slips are personalised, you must present your own slip with your cash.
- The maximum amount of cash you can pay in as a single deposit using your paying-in slip is £1,000.
- Paying-in slips can be ordered at a Halifax branch or over the telephone.
- When you use a paying-in slip the funds will show in your account, and will be available for you to use from the day we receive them from the Post Office®. This will usually be the next working day.
Paying in cheques
- When you pay in a cheque you must use a cheque envelope and a paying-in slip.
- Paying-in slips can be ordered at a Halifax branch or over the telephone.
- Cheque envelopes can be found at any Halifax branch or the Post Offices®.
- Cheques paid in at a Post Office® will take at least one additional working day to credit your account.
- We will always process cheques in line with the cheque clearing cycle.
If you're paying in cash and cheques at the same time, you must use separate paying-in slips for each element. You will also need a cheque deposit envelope for the cheques.
Important information
Every Post Office® branch has different cut-off times for paying in cash and for paying in cheques. If you deposit after the cut-off time an additional working day to processing times where relevant will apply.
Please check at the Post Office® you want to use what the relevant cut-off time is, for the type of deposit you wish to make. If you are paying in cash using a debit card, you can do so during opening hours of the branch you are using.
Coin denominations below £1 – only full coin bags will be accepted per the amounts specified on the bags. £1 and £2 coins will still be accepted in partial bags as long as the denominations are separate. The maximum number of coins that you can pay in for any single deposit is £250.
Services described above are available during opening hours on working days at any branch of the Post Office® within England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, excluding those in the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man.
