Answers to your key questions on the Halifax brand change.
No - this is a brand change only, not a change to customers' day-to-day banking relationship or support.
Halifax has been part of the same family as Lloyds for many years, alongside Bank of Scotland. What’s changing is the Halifax brand, which will change name over time.
Halifax is changing to Lloyds. We’re making banking feel simpler, smarter, and more joined up. By focusing on one Lloyds brand, we can invest more in the things that matter to you.
This is an exciting new chapter, which means we can offer you even more under one trusted brand.
You don’t need to do anything yet.
Everything about how your accounts work stays the same, including:
There’s no change to your account features and benefits today. Over time, the brand of your Halifax accounts will change to Lloyds. If you have different Halifax accounts, updates may happen at different times, and we’ll always let you know before anything changes.
Over time, the brand of your Halifax accounts will change but your account details will stay the same. The timing of this will depend on the type of account you have. Any change will be gradual and we’ll always let you know before we make any updates.
No. Although the Halifax brand is changing, we’re keeping our head office in Halifax and will continue to be part of the local community.
Yes. As an existing Halifax customer, you can still open new accounts with Halifax.
Lloyds is part of Lloyds Banking Group along with Halifax and Bank of Scotland. While the Halifax name and branding will change to Lloyds over time, your accounts, services and the way you bank will stay the same.
We are not changing previously announced plans for our branches. The vast majority of Halifax branches will change to Lloyds, and customers will continue to be able to use any of our branches. If there are any changes to your branch, we’ll let you know directly. You can also check your local branch page for the latest information.
All Halifax accounts are being rebranded to Lloyds. We are happy to support customers who want to move their accounts to Bank of Scotland.
As you have an eligible current or savings account with us, we’ll automatically enter you into the Super Prize Draw. There are 4 draws taking place between August and November, with prizes ranging from £1,000 to £1,000,000.
You may receive extra entries based on the cumulative balance in your eligible accounts, with one additional entry for every £10,000 you hold.
There’s nothing you need to do, and taking part doesn’t affect how your account works. If you’d prefer not to take part, you can opt out at any time. For more details and full terms and conditions, head over to Lloyds.
The Lloyds app will work in a similar way to your Halifax app, so it should feel familiar and easy to use. All your Halifax accounts will move across with you, along with your statements and account history.
Lloyds online banking works in a similar way to Halifax online banking, so the move should feel familiar. Your Halifax accounts, statements and important documents will move across with you.
Yes. If you already used My Credit Score with Halifax, you don’t need to register again. Once you’re in the Lloyds app, you’ll still be able to see My Credit Score.
If you’ve opted into paperless communications for your Halifax accounts, they’ll be in your Lloyds digital inbox when you move to the Lloyds app and online banking.
If the Halifax app closes before you move to the Lloyds app or online banking, you won’t have access to your paperless communications and could miss important updates about your accounts.
You might notice that one or more of your accounts is now showing its standard name when you log into Lloyds.
This can happen if you previously gave your account a nickname in the Halifax app or online banking. In some cases, those nicknames don’t automatically carry across, so your account reverts to its default name instead.
Nothing else has changed. Your account details, money and payments are all exactly the same, and you can rename your account again in the Lloyds app if you’d like.
If you can't log in, follow the fogotten password link, which will guide you through the process of getting back into your account. If you still can't access your account, use the alternative options to contact us.
If you use another app or service to view your Halifax accounts through open banking, nothing will change. You’ll continue to see your Halifax information as normal.
If you want to set up a new open banking connection, you’ll just need to select Lloyds as the bank when asked. We’ll remind you of this if you try to create a new connection using Halifax directly.
